About The Black Music Brunch

Canada’s Premier Celebration of Black Music & Cultural Excellence

Founded in 2022 by award-winning DJ and cultural curator MelBoogie, The Black Music Brunch is a national platform honouring the trailblazers of Canada’s Black music legacy while elevating the next generation of artists. Across the country, this invitation-only Brunch brings together iconic voices, emerging talent, and cultural leaders to celebrate Black excellence in music —from coast to coast.

The Black Music Brunch proudly celebrates icons who have shaped Canada’s musical identity while championing emerging voices shaping its future. Maestro Fresh Wes, Gary Beals, Kardinal Offishall, JRDN, k-Os, Glenn Lewis, Michie Mee, and other cultural leaders have joined VIP guests to support, mentor, and uplift the next generation of talent, while celebrating Canadian Black Music.

5 Years of Impact And Growing

As we approach our 5th anniversary on Saturday, March 28, 2026, The Black Music Brunch expands its national footprint once again—this time to Hamilton, Ontario. The mission remains clear: to honour the innovators, creators, and communities shaping the future of Black music in Canada.

The Black Music Brunch is more than a celebration.

It is a cultural catalyst.

A national stage.

An investment in Canada’s creative future.

Honouring legends. Creating opportunity. Building legacy.
